Umbra by Dawson E Rambo

Ugh, all the brilliant observations I wrote about this tome vanished when it published, along with the release date, causing it not to display. I'd written something insightful about Dawson seeming right at home when writing about military activities, only with much better verbiage. I remember writing that there are conspiracies within conspiracies within, some of which have been predetermined since birth. I also mentioned that my little bat-babies have been keeping me very busy so I didn't get a chance to re-read most of this before posting it, so the tags may be lacking, or unconfirmed. I'm sure you'll understand that it was difficult covering four little ears when the smut came on when I played it through TTS. 😉

BTW, if you want to listen to any of these stories, the way I do it is via the ePub version in Calibre or through an ePub reader phone app. There's also a text-to-MP3 plugin for Calibre which I use to make MP3 files to put on USB sticks or SD cards to play on long car journeys. The AI voices do a decent enough job.  I never get time to go see what's been uploaded to the human-read podcast, the name of which escapes me right now... I've been struggling to keep up with my own little corner of the web for so long that I've lost touch with the rest of the fandom happenings. I'll need to rectify that when time permits.

Being a proud bat-mama, I went looking for fics that contained my babies' names. Umbra was an obvious one for Umbra, although I didn't know whether I'd already uploaded it.  I had to do a double-take though when I discovered it also contains the name of my second bub, Terry. Unfortunately it doesn't include the name of the new bub coming to join them tomorrow, which isn't prevalent in XF fanfic, so I may have to change his name or find a new way of choosing what to upload when I have bats in my belfry, so to speak. 😀
