What is Project:Truthseekers all about you ask?
The project was started by fans who were not satisfied with where the series went after the end of Season 8. Our alternate universe begins right after Season 8 of The X-Files, namely the episode titled "Existence". At the end of "Existence" Scully, Mulder and William are together and our heroes seem finally able to admit to each other that they are better and stronger together than apart. Our purpose here is to indulge our fantasy that M&S were never separated as they were at the beginning of Season 9, and that they are going to fight to make the world a safer place for their son.
So pull up a chair, get comfortable, and follow us into alternate un-reality as Mulder & Scully work to derail alien invasion and defeat the colonists.

My feelings about Seasons 8, 9, and beyond are already pretty well established, so I wasn't sure how I'd go with this one. Of course I shouldn't have worried - it's intended to fix the worst of the wrongs and it's written by some favourite authors.
It doesn't spend the entire time in Season 9, it actually dwells quite a bit in the past, with a brief look into the future. Only part of this is on Gossamer, the majority was only posted to a couple of now-extinct personal sites. There are also original illustrations and dustjackets in the story files.
"Memoirs of Care, Recollections of Trust" could be considered "The Truth" of this Season 9 in that it's mostly a flashback episode, covering all prior seasons, with just a little new narrative.
Scully can quit researching anxiety cures. This fic was my anxiety treatment for 17kms of hiking through the beautiful Carnarvon Gorge during my recent camping trip. I climbed up and down too many steps and kept my balance across stone river crossings, pushing through the knee pain and uncomfortable heat thanks to listening to this through earphones as I walked. Without it I'd have given up within the first km. Exercise is hard. I should have hitched a ride with a kangaroo.
