About this site
This archive began from my Aspie need to compile and organise the fanfic I love, and desire to repost the heap of classic fanfic covers I’d salvaged from the wayback machine for other people to appreciate.
I often lament the time taken to find all the parts of stories and series and I hate having to go to multiple sites to find all the parts of a particular story. Times and download speeds have changed, so it’s no longer necessary to split stories into parts under a certain number of kilobytes. I wanted to take advantage of more modern technology & make a lot of the X-Files fanfic from the past more accessible.
Whilst this site was primarily established as an archive of consolidated series and novel-length stories, I want to include a bit of everything. Not only do I have hundreds of dustjackets designed by X-artists from the earliest times to now, I do a lot of my own for favourite fics and coverless ones I want to post here.
Each fic is tagged to make specific types of stories easier to locate. You can also browse A-Z or by latest releases. In the sidebar (which is down below on mobiles) there are a number of ways to find a story to suit your urges, or there are more pages available from the menu listing such things as authors, genres and tropes.
Available Formats
Each work has an ePub and pdf version. ePub files can be read using many phone or computer apps, or in some web browsers. I use the Calibre ebook program to store and convert fic, and I highly recommend it if you’re a fanfic hoarder. A txt or html version will normally also be available for the old skool among us. I’m not doing txt files so much now, opting for phone-friendly webpages instead.
Stories on archiveofourown.org or fanfiction.net aren’t normally archived here (unless authorised by the author). These sites have the ability to download the stories in various formats and will have the most up-to-date version. Consequently, with modern classics you’ll find that the dustjacket will link to the story at its existing location on AO3 or FF.net.
OTHER STUFF
I’m also working on resurrecting entire sites of fanfic from the 90s, and bringing the code up to date for modern devices. To look at other available sites, go to x-sites.org and xf-redux.com . For a fun time, visit xfredux.com (unless you’re sensitive to flashing objects :D) During the summer months I’m busy with wildlife care, so uploads can fluctuate throughout the year.
