This story is on ff-net (2002) and Ao3 (2015), but only the "Teen & up) version. This is the NC-17 version (of course).
I've added links to the other archives. I think the ff-net version is OK, but the AO3 version has a huge chunk of Chapter 3 repeated. I've made the x-libris web version NC-17, with an option to skip the smut and read the PG-13 version. Hopefully that's not too confusing.
This is quite a dark and haunting story, with Mulder returning to the Vineyard a few months after the death of his mother. Aside from the case they're investigating, there are a lot of old ghosts of Mulder's in the Vineyard.

This out-take from No Quarter Given was supposed to be released last week in acknowledgement of the New Orleans Mardi Gras, but I got hyper-focussed on Scully's Birthday instead. I'm releasing it as a special weekend bonus since I had a couple of double-up days that I'm trying to shuffle. With Mish taking you to southern Louisiana, with its hauntingly twisted oaks draped with Spanish moss, then add two attractive FBI agents fucking like the alium invasion is nigh, you'll forget what day it is.
Let me just add how awesome Sybil's contributions to the fanfic community were that she inspired so much birthday fic dedicated to her. Maybe for her birthday next year I could do an anthology of her birthday or challenge fics...

Some unabashed smut to continue the Valentine's Day theme. Scully doesn't want to spend the Valentine's Day weekend on a case looking for a ghost. But when there's only one room, and it has a jacuzzi, she tries to make the most of her situation. 🙂
"How I Slept With My Partner (Without Really Trying)" is just the "secret-header-name" for some notes Jose Chung is gathering for his next fiction novel. He's asked me, Jaime Lyn, to conduct a few interviews for him, as he is sick at home with the flu. All personal accounts contained, herein, are the property of Dana Katherine Scully and Fox William Mulder. The names will be changed, of course, but the accounts will most likely remain intact. This story includes the previously authored "How to Blend in With Normal People".
I quite enjoy a deliberate Mary-Sue. This is a long fic, with a complicated Mulder and Scully and all their baggage interwoven with humour. It does get quite angsty in places.
I know it's hard to believe, but this is actually a season 8/9 fic (sans Doggett & Reyes) in which William exists. It must be a Christmas miracle.
Some of the vignettes are post-eps for various Season 5 episodes.
I've always been a fan of Alanna's writing. It took me a few attempts to put all these stories into the right order, so hopefully I have it now. The stories were referred to along the way as part of a universe but were then gathered together on Alanna's website as the "Trilogy" series. Alanna using different names along the way didn't help matters. The series runs though a range of emotions as their relationship progresses.

Oh, it's lovely being off-grid in the rainforest, but this satellite internet is going to drive me crazy when I have to refresh 3 times to load or save anything. I'll have to see how it goes as far as uploading while I'm here.
I listened to this one during most of the drive up. I had no idea how long it was, but it kept me occupied as I drove and made me drive extra carefully during certain scenes as I didn't want to have to submit dashcam footage with M&S in explicit flagrante delicto if I happened to crash while that was going on.
Anyway, this one is case related, it's actually a crossover at times but you don't need to know the other source/s, and packed full of MSR. Be aware that some parts come with content warnings, which I've tried to add to the descriptions above.
I won't be able to add the web version for this one, due to its size and the internet issues that I'm not up for facing right now. 🙂 I can't add the extra artwork either...

Tomorrow is my 28th X-Files anniversary. ? I was hooked when the pilot episode first aired in Australia on 17 February 1994. Thankfully I recovered from the personality defect that caused me to spend the first 5 years of the show as a noromo, to enable me to now relish in the raw purity that is unencumbered Mulder-Scully sex during the pilot episode.
ScullyGolightly wrote ten stories in the series; each of them is a standalone and just a bit of harmless fun. Although it hasn't been added to since 2019, I do hope there are still some yet to be written that will appear at the series link one day without warning...

When Mulder and Scully were unable to get a flight back to DC, they set off by car. Who could possibly have imagined that they'd be sidelined by the weather, and forced to stay in the only room available?

Khyber takes our agents to some original and unique places. He also gives the partners a fun and adventurous sex life without overdoing it, with a few short smutfics interspersed with the main stories. The angst is also tempered with the kind of off-the-cuff snark that Mulder likes to make, and Scully sometimes adopts, and all the ingredients are there for a very entertaining series.
This one's a little large for a story page, but the other usual options are available.

Last Dance: Mulder's messing with something he shouldn't be.
This is an epic early story, beginning in Season 2, so it involves some characters who never made it far into Season 3. It's quite a complicated story, to match its name, as it involves time travel and parallel universes, which always make my head spin. It can get quite concerning MSR-wise at points, but you have to trust that they'll find a way. But I admit to being very glad that an epilogue was added...

This is a binge-worthy classic from Diehard as our agents embark on a new relationship.

I felt it was only appropriate to post this fic today, on its 25th anniversary and the day Mulder underwent hypnotic regression in 1999.
This has more plot than the usual hump day fic, but I'll find something plotless to make up for it on Friday.
Mulder and Scully move through the events of season six, carefully changing from friends to lovers.
Once upon a time there was a vignette. And when the vignette was posted, there were pleas for a sequel. However, the author had no ideas for a sequel, so she let a friend write it. The sequel then inspired the original author, so she wrote more. And so it went, back and forth, until the original vignette became . . . After Midnight.
Mulder is repentant after Two Fathers/One Son. Scully forgives him, a little at a time. They have to rebuild trust. This series takes you through season six from One Son onwards.

Mulder and Scully investigate some deaths during the Season 4 cancer arc, post Elegy and pre-Demons.
This is one of my favourite authors and stories. It hits the ground running, and keeps up the pace through the whole marathon.
Just as a sidenote, if you're undergoing chemotherapy, please seek your doctor's advice regarding the use of condoms before you and your partner do the wild thing in the morgue. 😉

This fic follows the ups and downs during the 12 days from the post-Zombie kiss in Millennium. Poor Mulder suffers a few indignities, but he's nothing if not resilient.
This story finishes off my 14 festive days of fics I challenged myself to post to get myself in the swing of things again. I'm aiming to get back to posting 3 times a week, but I still haven't managed to get back to reading emails again. Fingers crossed that I get there soon. I have important emails to send too. 🙂
Fox: Ever wonder why Mulder finally kissed Scully on New Year’s Eve? Here’s my theory…….
Mulder: So Mulder managed to resist Scully. Will she be able to resist him?
Toady: Agent Archie Travis goes on the mission to find out what Agent Scully left behind in Agent Mulder’s apartment. This story was initially set after "Fox" but written after "Mulder" so it includes details revealed in "Mulder". It's been shifted accordingly.
Even: Whoops, just a slip of the tongue...
Kiss: How far would Mulder go to know what happened? Mulder is desperate to know about what happened when he was in the mercy of his partner. How far would he go to find out? Meanwhile, Scully plays a mean joke on him and Archie finds the woman of his dreams
Mulder and Scully are faced with the extremely tough challenge of resisting each other's advances. It's another one that's only PG (I don't know what's wrong with me), but there's plenty of fighting of urges. It gets a little silly at times, but it's all in fun.
Living, loving……. and learning to let go. Set in the future, post episodic series finale, the X-Files are closed permanently due to unforeseen circumstances. Facing the dissolution of the partnership, Mulder and Scully go their separate ways trying to find a future, unable to see past their history. All the while, evil forces surround them in Washington that threaten the very existence of our nation’s most prized possession….democracy.
LM Control emphasizes the slow in slow burn in this one. While there are tags for /others they try but there's no follow through IYKWIM. There are case files in case files as M&S deal with the closure of the X-Files.
Summary in one short sentence: Mulder and Scully are spared from a
plague that sweeps the earth.
Author's note: This is a long story. It is set after Memento Mori, but
before Gethsemane. [Actually, Gethsemane wouldn't have happened if this
had.] Mostly it would fall into the category of angst, but it has a
little bit of just about everything: Mulder/Scully romance including
sex, mythology, a plot, and a [sort of] crossover.

You may not wish to read plague-fic during a global pandemic, but eponine119 couldn't have possibly imagined what it's like for many people right now. This fic bears no resemblance to our current circumstances and might help you appreciate that whilst Covid-19 has been turned into a ridiculous political soap-opera, at least we weren't all wiped out in days. 🙂

Scully dared herself to give in to this life, to call this enough - dire middle-of-the-nights with this unbelievable parabiosis arcing between them, and the daytime eternities of pretending there was nothing new.
And now when he wanted to lie with her, kissing and talking, she thought of how they would act tomorrow, of the subsequent days until they could be like this again, and she felt a certain level of bitterness at the sham of her life, bitterness he dispelled with his hands and mouth, and with his unspoken assurance that the only certain thing we have is now.

Mulder takes Scully on her dream vacation but things don't quite go to plan.
If you haven't figured it out yet, MD1016 is one of my favourite authors, and possibly even the one who got me sucked in to the world of XF fanfic to begin with . She combines the angst and UST and unleashes the smut in a way that I find most appealing. This is a vacation fic set during the cancer arc, with all its tenderness, angst, love, and seasickness.
What do Charlie Scully, the Alien Bounty Hunter, and Jesse “the Body” Ventura all have in common? Last April you could have found all three of them in Minnesota.
The mysterious Charlie Scully gets to come out and play in this one, set around an icy waterfall and steamy hot springs at Temperance Creek State Park in Minnesota. It's a nice trip to a cabin in the snow... that ends up in hospital.
Scully makes an assumption about Mulder and it nearly derails their partnership.
The stress of back to back profiling cases results in some friction between our agents. A series of misunderstandings doesn't help things until they finally work out where they're supposed to be. 😉
I was looking for a solstice fic, but because I'm on the wrong side of the world it's Yule here, and in the X-Files world Yule is at Christmastime, so nothing quite fit. I gave up and got one set around the northern Summer solstice in season 7.

Diana continues to interfere after One Son. Our agents couldn't be any more distant when they're sent out of the country on a case.
Author's Notes: For almost 20 years I have lived in a country with a 5,000 year old culture, spending months in villages that count years since the last white person was seen. I was once an academic and thus am still more skeptic that believer. But I have also seen things... On my last trip to Ambrym volcano, I was stuck in a leaky hut with dead bodies from black magic littering the area. . My helicopter pilot companion thought I was screwy reading Xfiles when we lived the damned things. So a bottle of tequila and an annoyance about the M&S relationship post One Son in hand, I sat down with many battery changes, incorporated real life to fiction and ended up with this.
This is one of my favourite fics. I can't get enough Fowley-induced-angst, and she's at her evil worst in this one. It does reference Human Affairs, a previous story by Spider, but it's not necessary to read that story before this one. You might notice that I've tagged both stories as UST to RST, but there's a reason for that so just go with it. 🙂
Spider is clearly a gifted writer. She's actually an international bestselling author in her own right. The book referenced under the Lost Time image below is a science-fictional look at the results of climate change and the subsequent breakdown of society that's already quite frightening in 2020. The author has released it as a free download if you'd like to Ecosia it (alternative to Google with more trees and fewer data collectors).
18+ months later - I just found some original artwork for Spider's stories. I assume that this was created by Spider as it didn't state otherwise. I've also mocked up an image to direct you to the author's other work without search engines being able to associate that work with this fanfic (I hope).

I decided I liked this Mulder and Scully -- playful and romantic, but still carrying lots of emotional baggage -- and I wanted them to play some more in this little world I'd created for them. There are six completed stories in the series, including the prologue, Non-essential Personnel. This one has some delicious "keeping it real while undercover" smut in it. I had a little trouble imagining Scully losing control to the extent she does, but I'm willing to forgive these writers this once; they're two of my all-time favourites. And like I say, OOC is perfectly acceptable when there's intense sex involved... which is why I hate it when CC takes them out of character.
Please be aware that there are many disturbing elements in this fic, and Scully bears the brunt of a lot of the coercive behaviour, so proceed with caution.
Scully's feelings for her partner are forced out into the open when another woman comes into the picture.
