I loved how she brings forth circumstantial evidence to back up this story, weaving seemingly insignificant scatterings of canon to bring an extra level of plausibility. She also demonstrates how much they've been affected by what they've experienced in their years together and how it resulted in their attempts to repress their feelings, which just makes the end sweeter. I'm entirely sold that this happened exactly as Jori describes.

Kristel decided to take up the challenge of portraying Mulder and Scully in a long-term D/s relationship rather than just a simple one-shot. She didn't finish her ultimate goal, but she gave us 7 incredible installments with no massive cliffhanger at the end so I'm grateful for what we have.
I normally have issues with Mulder!Dom in that Scully has been in situations that may trigger her with regards to being restrained, but Kristel has accounted for this and treated the characters and subject matter respectfully.

I've always been a fan of Alanna's writing. It took me a few attempts to put all these stories into the right order, so hopefully I have it now. The stories were referred to along the way as part of a universe but were then gathered together on Alanna's website as the "Trilogy" series. Alanna using different names along the way didn't help matters. The series runs though a range of emotions as their relationship progresses.

It's Thanksgiving in the USA, so I planned to add a bonus fic for today. I had a quick look through my fics and found this one. It's not actually a Thanksgiving fic, however "Outgoing" was released on Thanksgiving 1998 as "Mandatory Thanksgiving Smut". Who am I to argue with Jori? Consequently it's mandatory to read this for Thanksgiving. 😀 You can quiz yourself afterwards to make sure you took it all in. Maybe write an exploration of your interpretation of the last line... 😉
I originally tried to mess with Jori's "OutGoing" banner to force it into the correct dimension for X-Libris covers, but it wasn't working all that well, so I've made a new one inspired by Jori's original art, below.

While on a case in Las Vegas, Mulder and Scully achieve some professional - and personal - goals. Basically, this is the way I would like to see the TV series end, then see future movies, etc. take off from this point.
There is no way I'm going to list all 50 summaries here. Angela creates her own little universe that continues to cross paths with season 6 & 7 canon, often as part of a bigger universe including some crossovers.

I had this fic playing in my car using text-t0-speech and I had to turn it off when it started making the cassowaries and crocodiles blush. There is some A-Grade smut in this one. I felt the need to lighten the mood a little, so I've gone with some smut-humour, or humoritca as I refer to it. I just adore this series by somekindofseizure. Mulder and Scully are temporarily assigned to "The jewel and art thief rich criminal James Bond Thomas Crown spy ring division" of the FBI, and are arguably the worlds worst spies. In their defense though, they have a lot of distractions to deal with. I'm LMAO just thinking about it.

RivkaT starts this one with our agents hot and heavy. It does get progressively more angsty as they find themselves in a dangerous predicament. An excellent fic. There are some mild dubcon elements if you overthink it, so try not to overthink it.
Scattered Leaves: This is the third in the Seasons Series; the sequel to Shadows on the Sun. Mulder goes undercover, Scully goes to a conference. Some unanswered questions...
Going Up, Going Down: A smut companion to Scattered Leaves. Yes, I can picture Mulder in almost any setting. And yes, I appreciate his 'backside'.

Khyber takes our agents to some original and unique places. He also gives the partners a fun and adventurous sex life without overdoing it, with a few short smutfics interspersed with the main stories. The angst is also tempered with the kind of off-the-cuff snark that Mulder likes to make, and Scully sometimes adopts, and all the ingredients are there for a very entertaining series.
This one's a little large for a story page, but the other usual options are available.

Hot Damn is right. I don't remember coming across this fic before; I only went searching for it after I found a dustjacket for it and was intrigued. I'm glad I found it. I had no idea where it was coming from or heading to, and it totally really blew me sideways. Plus the flashback was one of the hottest "all things" fics I've ever read.
I'm disappointed that I found no more of this would-be series, but even the note at the end that there was more planned was enough to allow me to smile, knowing it wasn't supposed to be the end of the story.

I'm a sucker for the decoy!Scully trope, and this fic is an all-time favourite. Mulder's tongue can't help itself when faced with Scully's under-dressed cleavage, and to be totally honest, even as a straight woman I can appreciate the temptation that naked Scullyboobs would present. Slight dubcon (but not unwanted) Mulder!tongue action.

I was making a cover for the Dividends universe when I remembered I had to make another for CC&Rs and didn't know how far my creativity would extend... this is the result.
Dividends is set earlier in Season 6, but its follow-up, Seven Year Itch is set during Arcadia.
Covenants, Contracts & Restrictions is a completely separate story, giving you double the happy ending. 🙂

Once upon a time there was a vignette. And when the vignette was posted, there were pleas for a sequel. However, the author had no ideas for a sequel, so she let a friend write it. The sequel then inspired the original author, so she wrote more. And so it went, back and forth, until the original vignette became . . . After Midnight.
Mulder is repentant after Two Fathers/One Son. Scully forgives him, a little at a time. They have to rebuild trust. This series takes you through season six from One Son onwards.
Jenna's made an illustration for each story in the series. There are too many to attach here, but they're included in the ePub & PDF versions.
Mulder and Scully investigate some deaths during the Season 4 cancer arc, post Elegy and pre-Demons.
This is one of my favourite authors and stories. It hits the ground running, and keeps up the pace through the whole marathon.
Just as a sidenote, if you're undergoing chemotherapy, please seek your doctor's advice regarding the use of condoms before you and your partner do the wild thing in the morgue. 😉
Scully's getting stalked, and when she disappears, Mulder finds their relationship under suspicion, whilst he searches for her. Meanwhile, she's not inclined to just sit back and wait to be rescued.
This is a fic I came across whilst I was searching for another story, and I'm very glad I did. I usually avoid established relationship fics because I like a bit of excitement, IYKWIM, but there's no lack of that with this pair, despite them being together almost 2 years at the time this is set.
There's the angst of Mulder and Scully both being in danger, then more angst when nobody would believe Scully had been kidnapped, thanks to some bruising left by Mulder. 😉 After Mulder is sidelined by the bureau, our agents have to each rely on their wits to get back to each other. A++++

The Magic Shell series is so bad it's good. It's shameless PWP, most of it written as a distraction by Sister Spooky list members whilst awaiting season 8.
I've tried to group stories together where they're connected, but I may have lost track somewhere in there. I did however move the three M/S/K stories to the end to save MSR purists from having to close their eyes and scroll through them. (There are links in the ePub & PDF versions.) There's more of an explanation at the beginning of the file.
Personally, I don't mind the very infrequent M/S/K fic as a total escape from reality, and I can understand why Krycek would want to join in. 😀

Blue Samutra is a fabulous author who also made great dustjackets, so she's a particular favourite of mine. 😉
This is a compelling story with a slightly fragile Scully and protective Mulder sent to Chicago after a rather grisly murder by AD Cassidy, much to AD Kersh's disdain, to lure out a serial killer.
While they're not exactly working undercover, they do have to stake out a nightclub and dress the part, so I've added the undercover tag for the little dress-up scenario which has Mulder quite enraptured. 🙂
Six Hours in New York is an achingly beautiful Maggie Scully perspective of Mulder's arrival at the hospital in NY that really sets the scene of where our agents are at in their personal relationship (0bviously One Son hasn't happened yet though).

More treats than tricks. More pocus than hocus. It's probably not surprising that Mr & Mrs Spooky enjoy halloween. This is a bit of a mixed bag of stories. The majority are first time fics. Most are refreshingly light on plot, but there's a case file in there too. There's a lot of light-hearted fun to enjoy in this batch.
After Gethsemane, Scully and Mulder decide to pay a visit to their friend Dr. Scanlon.
Post Gethsemane stories are usually quite intriguing, and this one is no exception. Scully meets up with Mulder after his apparent suicide and after discovering some clones, they have to effectively go undercover to find out what Dr Scanlon is up to. The Lone Gunmen also help out with some trouble-making clones.
Scully gets something she’s not sure that she wants. (Scully has had a one time opportunity for motherhood, given to her by the Kurt Crawfords.)
This one blew me away. And I don't think it was just because I thought anticipated that it would be a bit more clinical or awkward. Mulder and Scully give it their all. 😉

This is a fabulous brand new fic by a first time author. It combines a case file with some intense relationship angst and some likeable (and loathable) original characters.
There is some artwork at the end of the fic on AO3 but I won't post it here because it might be a bit spoilery. 🙂

I'm currently ploughing through some depression/anxiety issues. I'm trying to keep the posts up but also attempting to take some pressure off by not feeling as though I have to post, if that makes sense. I'm hoping it will be business as usual but please bear with me if I don't get 3 weekly releases for the next couple of weeks. It's nothing i haven't dealt with before, it's just a matter of harnessing limited energy and brainpower to use where it's needed. 🙂
Those summaries don't do this fic justice. This began as a bit of a first-time smut vignette but it then runs the gamut of emotions as it explores the establishment of their relationship with its ups and downs. It's one of those favourite fics that I forgot was a favourite until I re-read it.
It's weird how when re-reading fics I've found that some memorable ones haven't had the same impact on a second read, and others I couldn't quite remember have me pleasantly surprised. That could be a lot to do with expectations, so I try not to let that affect what I post here. 🙂

Scully dared herself to give in to this life, to call this enough - dire middle-of-the-nights with this unbelievable parabiosis arcing between them, and the daytime eternities of pretending there was nothing new.
And now when he wanted to lie with her, kissing and talking, she thought of how they would act tomorrow, of the subsequent days until they could be like this again, and she felt a certain level of bitterness at the sham of her life, bitterness he dispelled with his hands and mouth, and with his unspoken assurance that the only certain thing we have is now.
Penumbra really has a way with words. I was really surprised that I had to create a dustjacket for this one because it's such a legendary fic. There must be one somewhere that I don't know about. I did, however, find this fanart for it by skuuri at deviantart/ankathehuman at tumblr:

! If you 're particularly sensitive you might briefly contemplate whether this is dubcon. If it actually hits the dubcon scale, it's nowhere near as dubcon as the actual show.
I love the opening line of this one. "Scully, have you ever wanted to kill me?". Mulder's obviously concerned about being sent to investigate the death of an agent previously sent to investigate a crime in this town at the hands of his partner...

Lepus Arcticus has to be one of my all-time favourite authors and I really need to include more of her fics here.
This one is a case file set in the cancer arc, and it's full of feels and truly mindblowing.

I love that Scully heads out in search of satisfaction, and I love the awkwardness of her chosen beau. I love the intensity of their passion, bordering on love/hate, and I love that things don't quite go right. I'd love to have seen this one on TV 😀

II: No Win Situation: Their affair revealed, Mulder and Scully have been given new partners. His is bad, and hers is worse. Together, they must suffer through the power games of their professional lives while learning a very different lesson about power in their private lives.
III: Sub Rosa: Mulder and Scully go undercover to rescue a kidnapped child from a white supremacist militia group. Success could mean the salvation of the duo’s partnership — if it doesn’t destroy them first.
Note - the third story in this series is far heavier than the others and concerns an undercover situation that Mulder and Scully find abhorrent, causing much angst. Viewer discretion (and expectation adjustment) is advised. Please read the author's notes for more information.

You know you're dealing with very old text files when you have to mess with the editing of line breaks to force paragraphs to show. Normally unnecessary carriage returns are removed when it converts to epub (and then pdf) but when it's been written on a particularly old computer all carriage returns are removed and you just get a huge block of text. It's not pretty, and hopefully I've noticed others before posting. Occasionally I know there's the odd orphan end of a sentence, but that really can't be helped because manually proofreading is above my paygrade! 😀
