Minnesota by WickdZoot

80,000 Words

Minnesota cover

WickdZoot doesn't do summaries, but doesn't care if archivists choose to. With my memory I need them to have some idea as to whether I've read a story before -although this story is plenty memorable without one. 🙂  Mind you, I've borrowed huge chunks of it from Amp & Goo's 'Oklahoma' summary...

It's 1997 and the Minnesota cops have an unsolvable case. Fox Mulder, once golden boy of the VCU, is called in to stop a serial murderer across the state. What he finds drives him to the most frightening of places within his own mind. Despite Scully being there to doctor him, he's eventually forced to make a pivotal choice in his life.

A delightful (& smutty) parody of Amp & Goo's 'Oklahoma', set around Season 4-5ish.

Minnesota, where the snow chills fibbies to the bone
And the killer's clues may sound confused
If you're not familiar with Nash poems.

I love a parody, and WickdZoot gives us a wonderful Profiler!Mulder, teetering on the cusp of madness and not wanting to fall asleep because of the dreams. Admittedly, the dreams really are quite disturbing.

I created a new cover for both 'Oklahoma' and 'Minnesota' when I couldn't make my original 'Minnesota' concept work. However, a week after reuploading the new version of 'Oklahoma' I had another stab at it, and it turned out a lot better. I'm not redoing both, but I'll put it below should you prefer that one, despite (or because of) it not having naked Scully in partial Nun-garb on it. I really hope my ISP doesn't track what images I search for...

Mercury Falling by C Slatton

Mercury Falling online cover

It's 1988 and Wheeling, West Virginia has serial killer on the loose. One who kills to attract the attention of a very exclusive audience: a young, hotshot profiler named Fox Mulder. But that's not Mulder's only problem for the moment. In fact, the killer may just have to get in line...

A very elaborate look at a younger Fox Mulder: profiling hotshot and total nutcase. So much is explained in this story about how Mulder came to be the brilliant but distrusting and somewhat paranoid person we see in the show.

It also answers a few questions you never thought to ask. Or is that what a dream is supposed to do? 🙂

The original online version of the story also had images in each chapter. Most images weren't saved, so I've had to guess from their file names & surrounding text etc what they were.

This fic was so beloved that it even had its own shrine on ArcticFox42's site. I've added a couple of the images below.

Twisted (mimic) cover

During tornado season, an unusual number of people  are being killed in spite of the warning system. But before  they can find out who is causing the deaths, Mulder and  Scully need to discover how these people are dying.

Mimic117 is another writer I adore, both for her writing and her advice to me with regards to rescuing old archives and websites. I particularly love her Scully in this fic.

While Mimic wanted to write a straight case-file here, I'm glad she added some smut-lite - I can't imagine that the story would be so perfect without that and the smattering of humour that kept me wanting more. Which reminds me, I've had a particular series of Mimic117's that I've wanted to upload forever but haven't had a chance to re-read yet; I must get onto that.

This is another story featuring Special Agent Mike Thomas introduced in  “Flights” and “Faith” by Suzanne Bickerstaffe, posted last week.

Faith by Suzanne Bickerstaffe

36,000 Words

Faith cover

While working on a case involving the firebombing of black churches, Mulder and Scully share their innermost thoughts when locked in a life-and-death situation.

!CW: some characters maintain racist views and use offensive language

This case file set early in the cancer arc reprises the role of Atlanta Detective, Mike Thomas, from "Flights".

It takes me right back to that late-season-4 Scully who is determined to handle everything on her own and rebuff any attempts Mulder makes to make life easier for her, leaving him feeling lost as to how to deal with her illness himself. Although there's no MSR here it still comes with feels and captures the genuine platonic love between them, particularly when they spend time trapped together, believing it may be their end.

Flights by Suzanne Bickerstaffe

14,000 Words

Flights cover

The pair are on the trail of a serial killer with an odd penchant for souvenirs, while Mulder helps Scully to deal with a shattering experience.

Some classic 'Mulder and Scully tracking down a serial killer' action, where only their unique perspective will lead to the killer, putting them in danger.

This was written and set early in the series, with their relationship commensurate with that timeframe: friendship and respect. It only has the higher rating due to adult themes.

I'll make sure I post something for the smut-fiends on Wednesday, as otherwise it's going to be a noromo week. 🙂

Blood Oranges by Syntax6

50,000 Words

Blood Oranges cover

The latest victim in a series of brutal murders has a surprising connection to Mulder, but it's Scully who has the connection to the killer. Their relationship might not survive either one.

Another fabulous story from Syn. She's tossed a whole bunch of quality ingredients int0 this one. Although it starts on Scully's birthday, there's no time for cake - they're-ahem- thrust right into the action from the first scene.  I also live for a little role reversal from time to time. 🙂

This one was a challenging one for Syn to write. I've linked her website for you to go and give her some love, and while you're there you can follow the link on her home page to get to her original novels if you haven't investigated them already. I don't have a lot of time to read anything other than X-Files fanfic, but when I'm looking for something totally different to read, I turn to novels by former fanfic authors... I'm so tragic. LOL.

Wanted and Needed by Hawthorne Kessler

7,200 Words

Wanted & Needed cover

A recent proliferation of opportunities for Scully leaves Mulder desperate to prove his own worth as an agent.

This is one of those short fics that feels like a longer story.

It's that excruciatingly long time in Season 6 when M & S are off the x-files. Mulder is envious of Scully getting to do exciting stuff like autopsies while he's making almost-useful objects from stationery items.  When she goes to a conference he finds something else to do.

This fic is a reminder that Mulder is my ADHD spirit animal.

On the run through the American Southwest, Scully and Mulder flee the shadowy forces of Owen Curran and Padden's government agents, who threaten their freedom and their lives. On the way, they must also struggle with their own demons, which threaten to tear them apart.

The Goshen saga continues, with a damaged Scully and protective, concerned Mulder on the run from both the  bad guys and the good guys, dealing with the fallout from Secret World.

This one is quite a tough read, particularly straight after Secret World.  Although this is third in the trilogy - spoiler alert - it's not a trilogy. 🙂

A lot of art work was made for this story, but only a small amount of it has survived. Sue made chapter images, one of which is used as the cover art here.

Secret World by Bonetree

Scully goes deep undercover to find the secret behind a mysterious death. But with what she learns, will she ever be able to come in from the cold?

!Please check the content warnings

A Scully-centric fic that plays to Scully's strengths without turning her into a saint. Meanwhile, poor Mulder is struggling with the separation, and Skinner is having headaches trying to keep him out of trouble.

Bonetree writes a compelling story with some fascinating characters. As Scully gets deeper into the case, we feel Mulder's angst and desperation over his lack of control.  There's also some wonderful Mulder-doctoring and caring for an injured Scully, and of course, some considered smut.

Destiny cover

Mulder's behavior suddenly becomes erratic, his actions evasive as he forces Scully away from a case that's been given to him under mysterious circumstances. And eventually Fox Mulder is faced with the decision of a lifetime.

This is a hard-to-find story from Writergal2000; a mytharc fic set in season 6 with throwbacks to the DAT tape in Anasazi.  There's a bit of unrest between the partners, as Scully gets fed up with Mulder's attempts to protect her.  Things work out of course.

Inferno Series by Pellinor

196,000 Words

Inferno cover

Inferno: Mulder gets drawn into a web of guilt and revenge that could rob him of his sanity, even his life. Both Scully and Mulder think they know what they are dealing with, but the truth is something neither of them have ever expected.

Purgatorio: Three months on, and Mulder shows no signs of even attempting to come to terms with what happened to him in "Inferno," and Scully begins to feel the strain of having to constantly sacrifice her own needs to the needs of her desperately unhappy partner. Things come to a head on a murder case when Scully simply can not accept Mulder's theory. Will their partnership survive?

Paradiso: While Scully attempts to undo the damage wrought by recent events, Mulder gets drawn into a web of intrigue that could lead him to the truth, but could just as easily destroy him.

Journey back to a difficult time in Season 3, after Paper Clip, where our agents seemed to have trouble finding a middle ground.  They're miles apart when they're sent away for a case, and things don't improve in a hurry.

No MSR, but lots of angst and MulderTorture.  Strap yourself in, because it's a bit of a rough ride for Mulder and Scully in this one. One for the angst addicts.

Book Cover: Devil's Advocate (Neon Universe Vol 2) by ImAStinker & FancyKatz
Part of the Neon Universe series:

NEON UNIVERSE VOLUME II

Devil's Advocate: After Scully's recovery post-One Breath, Mulder & Scully pose as newlyweds on a Mystery-Solving cruise to catch a serial killer.

Devil's Advocate II: Sanctuary: Escaped prisoners come across Maggie Scully's house where Mulder is recuperating with the Scully family after their cruise adventure.

You Better Sit Down Now: Valentine's day after the drama at Maggie's. (ImAStinker only)

Not to be confused with another story of the same name, these stories feature a Season 2 Mulder and Scully, posing as a married couple on a cruise ship. I had a bit of a cruise ship binge lately, and there's still more to come...

The second fic features the whole Scully family in peril, as Scully takes Mulder there to recover after the first story.

UPDATE: I've now reuploaded this book with a third story that takes place straight after the other two.  I didn't realise that ImAStinker's fics were all part of the one universe, so there's also more before and after this volume.  I'll be re-releasing this one with the other two volumes of the Neon Universe stories.

The cover I originally made for this one didn't survive the Great Hard Drive Crash of 2021 so the attached fics have a new cover with the extra details on.

Taking Liberties cover

Taking Liberties: While the X-Files are shut down, Mulder drags Scully to California to celebrate her birthday, but the case he's assigned to keeps getting in the way...

Bokor Holiday: Mulder takes it upon himself to save Scully from a voodoo curse, but ends up needing saving himself.

Code of Silence: Scully tricks Mulder into agreeing to participate in hypnotherapy to help him with his insomnia and some recurring nightmares.

Child's Play: Mulder and Scully are given a young girl to baby-sit. What they weren't told is that she 'witnessed' a murder without actually being there.

Mulder and the Stinking, Rotten, Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day: Mulder experiences a definite low.

Forgotten Souls: Our heroes may have gotten in over their heads and need a little 'outside' intervention when some old enemies return. First appearance of Dr.Jay.

When Pigs Fly:
Mulder baby-sits some small relatives, much to his dismay, and everything that could go wrong, does go wrong...

Double Vision: Mulder sees and hears strange things after a near death experience from trying vainly to save a woman's life.

Oh, What A Night: On Halloween, Mulder is drafted to baby-sit some small relatives and his well-meaning efforts to take them trick or treating cause nothing but trouble. Co-written by FancyKatz

On The Edge: Mulder finds comfort from his loss with someone who shares it.  [Warning: Post-ep for "3".  Not essential reading if you prefer to deny that episode never happened.]

Cheryl was a very early MSR fanfic author, with these stories written in 1994. All of her stories take place in the same universe, which begins after Mulder and Scully were split up at the end of Season One.  Consequently there are some characters that developed a little differently in this universe, so you occasionally have to forget all you've learned of them since 1994. She's also quite determined to injure Mulder in multiple ways, which can be a lot of fun.

Annie shows up as co-author for the first time in "Oh, What A Night", and they team up to write more stories in Volume 2 and 3 together.

I did release "Devils Advocate" earlier this year, not realising that the other stories were related, so I'm re-releasing that one this week with an extra story added, along with "Neon" (Volume 3).

The image featured on the cover is a sketch by ImAStinker. I tried colourising it for the cover and it turned out a bit of a mess. The original is below. This is one of the sketches that I'll include with Neon in Volume 3.

Mulder and Scully race to uncover the mystery behind the deaths of eight FBI agents - all linked to three cases from the 1970's in which Skinner was also involved - and now the only one left alive. Kronos writes a great story, and poor Mulder suffers for it 😉

Therapist cover

Mulder and Scully are on loan to the VCU, on the trail of a couple killer.

!Content Warning: M/S forced

This fic puts our agents into a situation where they are forced to make what they can of an otherwise unbearable situation, and in doing so strengthen their trust.  Livia treats them with love and compassion and has them come out on top as only Mulder and Scully can.

I often anguish over whether to publish an author's name where google can find it. It usually comes down to  how common the name is. I was on the fence with this one as so much fic comes up on google anyway, but I couldn't be sure that it wasn't a unique name, so I chose to be cautious. Whilst I've edited the name displayed on this site, it's still on the image where google can't see it, and in the downloadable documents.

However, I did find this entry in the urban dictionary that I found amusing and thought I'd share.

Silence, Sea & Sky by Anonymous

Silence Sea & Sky cover

Mulder and Scully investigate the disappearance of a young girl who may be the fourth victim of a serial killer and complications ensue when Mulder believes that the girl's sister has psychic abilities.

This is another early-ish casefile fanfic. It pushes the Profiler!Mulder trope, so that Scully is forced to profile a killer to save Mulder's life. A quality fic from a quality writer who went on to work in the industry.

68,000 Words

Shred of Doubt cover

Scully gets called out to San Diego to help on a case and Mulder, though still recovering, tags along. Detective John Kresge wasn’t expecting the extra baggage.

This is an all-time favourite fic that I was reminded of recently.  I just love the characterisation embraced by these two long-standing XF fanfic authors: Mulder is constantly tortured but still tries to play at Alpha Male -being very possessive of Scully whilst feeling threatened and vulnerable, Scully is caught between Mulder and the rest of the civilised world, Kresge is an overbearing sexist pig, Maggie is the all-knowing peacemaker, and Bill Jr is at his belligerent, blustering best.  This all adds to the humour and makes this case file an extremely entertaining read.

Whole Catastrophe (The) by Diehard & Dryad

The Whole Catastrophe cover
Part of the Absolute Beginners series:

This story takes place late in the year 2000. In the early Spring of the same year, Mulder and Scully finally got off the dime (after a false start, angst, guilt and a nightmare or two) and did the dirty deed. After a weekend of ‘solidifying their relationship’, they are pulled off the X-Files, but managed to find at least one way to console each other. Fast forward about six months—and you’ll be right we begin, dear reader. !cd (but not who you think)

The honeymoon is beginning to wind down for our agents after "Absolute Beginners" as they're finally sent back out on assignment and have to test out their new relationship 'in the wild' while dealing with a less-than-impressed local sheriff.

Part of the Old Friends series:

‘He looked up at her, his expression unreadable. “Ever wonder why things happen?” At Scully’s confused look, he continued, “I mean, why things happen at specific times? Why people show up when they do?” Mulder leaned in toward her as he spoke.’

This was the oldest outstanding story on by  "to read" list as I was a little worried about the Mulder/other factor, but I finally read it and it's definitely MSR. Mulder's ex-girlfriend is in the story, and there's some sexual tension between them, but they're both with other people now. 🙂 I have a feeling that I'd read the interlude, which is Mulder/other, and that gave me the wrong idea. Although the interlude isn't part of the original story,  it was written before Part 21 but I've placed it at the end as an optional extra.

The woman at the centre of this story is a likable, interesting character, who works with Mulder and Scully on a case, before working on their personal relationship.

I haven't managed to get my hands on the original book cover created by Nessa, so if you have a copy I'd love to include it here.

There is a sequel to this one, available under 'series' below the downloads.

History Lessons by Joann Humby

It was supposed to be a simple investigation of a serial killer... until the mind of the killer was made known. Mulder struggles against truths and lies in the mind of a murderer, while Scully fights against shadows and conspiracies for the sanity of her partner.

Content Warning: Profiler!Mulder is violent towards Scully a number of times in this story.

Tara writes beautifully, so at least while she's putting you through an emotional wringer you can appreciate that she's doing it with such vivid imagery.  😉  This is one for the angst addicts. Be prepared to hurt for a while.

"This is an AU story in which I play fast and loose with the first season. While I’m just as glad that Ethan got eliminated from the actual show (I don’t think he would have added much on the screen) I thought it would be fun to play out the relationship here as Scully gets dragged deeper and deeper into the X-Files."

Syntax6 is a legend, as this story and its sequel demonstrate.

Syn gives Scully's deleted boyfriend Ethan a big role in the first season as she weaves some extra cases in for Mulder and Scully to solve. This follows the agents from their first meeting to the return of Scully after her abduction. And while this is Scully/Ethan, Ethan doesn't seem to be doing it for her once she starts on the X-Files.

This fandom is so blessed to have writers of the calibre of Dawson E Rambo. This is another of his epic fics that meanders through a lot of angst and UST  as they deal with their feelings towards each other and solve multiple cases.

Ever wonder how her illness might have affected her work or if she ever thought about Leonard Betts' words?

Well we did...

This is an impressive case file set during that wonderful time of peak angst in Season 4.

I didn't plan t0 post two post "Never Again" fics in a row.  I'd mistakenly tagged this fic as Scully's Birthday but after a re-read discovered it definitely wasn't and it lost its planned Feb 23 release, slotting in after 'Dust' instead.

Overnight Sensation by Syntax6

Set post Two Fathers/One Son, Mulder and Scully struggle to get back on the same page as a serial killer stalks couples in the Boston area.

It was fortuitous that permission to share some of Syntax6's stories came just in time to share this Valentine's Day fic.  Don't expect any sappy romance though, it's set immediately after One Son before Mulder and Scully start back on the X-Files.  Scully needs some alone time before the X-Files reopen and accepts a case in Boston. Naturally her alone time doesn't last long.

There aren't a lot of hearts and flowers in this one.  Pissy Scully is on point with her snarky thoughts about Mulder and Fowley. Mulder is on his toes, and Fowley is peak Fowley.  Of course, Mulder ends up on Scully and vice versa by the end.

I'll take this opportunity to surreptitiously plug Syn's original novels again.  Find out more at her web site.

A horrific series of child molestations and murders has escalated. The director himself, under political pressure from the Justice Department has no choice but to assign the FBI's best profiler to the case, despite a promise he made ten years previously. But this series of killings has no resemblance to anything anyone in the FBI, including the X-files' Fox Mulder, has ever encountered before.

! Content warning for disturbing subject matter - graphic description of violence towards children. Please read the introduction before reading.

Parts of this are really tough to read, but it's an important contributor to the acute Profiler!Mulder-torture,  and to a lesser degree, the Scully-torture.

This is an MSR, but Skinner also gets lucky. (Skinner feels like my dad, so I'd rather not know about what he does in his spare time, but  this wasn't gagworthy at all 😀  Maybe the other horrors made it all pale in comparison.)

I spent 6 days camping in a spectacular World Heritage area, and this is what I read. Go figure. Needless to say I took a couple of breaks, and I had to read a lot of PWP afterwards to recover.  Enjoy  😉

I'm very happy to report that I've just turned up Spider's original artwork for this fic, which I've now added below. I was also surprised to discover that she lived in the neighbouring town to me back in the day. I feel like I came within reach of basking in some of Sonny's limelight. 😀

Despite the roadblocks, their investigation leads them to a conspiracy whose purpose could result in an even worse disaster. Skinner joins his agents in a race against time that could very well end with all their deaths, along with thousands of innocents.

When your friendly neighbour psychopath starts killing redheads, Scully is requested to go undercover ... as a stripper.

I have a weakness for undercover stripper stories.  This one has been described as an erotic thriller, with sex, violence, angst and misunderstanding.  Mulder is in a world of torture with Scully being in this undercover role and the target of a serial killer.  Our agents end up getting a bit physical in more ways than one.

The Complete Revelations Series
This series takes place during the first season of The X-Files, beginning the morning after the last scene in The Jersey Devil and ending prior to the Season One finale,  The Erlenmeyer Flask.

The full series is split into three volumes, as follows:
VOLUME ONE:

1. REVELATIONS 1: DAWN
(This has been mislabelled as "Revelations" at the top of each volume) Let us return to the days of yesteryear when Scully's abduction, bounty hunters, clones and cancer are still far in the future. It's the morning after the Jersey Devil case, Scully is dismayed to be given a temporary reassignment while her new partner, Fox Mulder, does some work for VCS. Lots of FIRSTS in this one for these two. PG13 for some violence and occasional adult topics.
2. REVELATIONS 2: THE BOX
Still feeling the affects from a hellish case, Mulder and Scully are handed a little administrative task that develops into something both sinister and dangerous as a grumpy pair of agents are forced to endure each other's company under VERY confined conditions.

VOLUME TWO:
3. THE VACATION
4. THE ABDUCTEE
5. MILE HIGH
6. MEMORIES

VOLUME THREE:
7. JUST THE TWO OF US
8. SKUNKED AGAIN

This is a truly epic series.  It began as one relatively short story, which was then combined with another, and then the complete series was built around them.  Sue often had multiple parts being written at once over the four years it took to complete. It all came together in the end, and due to the fact that only some parts are novel-length in their own right, it's hard to find the full series compiled in the one place.   It's been split into three volumes for size, and since I found three covers so that worked out well.

This series is smut-lite.  It has lots of UST and romance, but it's not explicit. That doesn't mean it's not good. 😉 According to Sue, "... the whole series is rated PG-13 for adult themes and some violence and a few bad words. The very last chapter (of Revelations 7) pushes the edges of PG13 all the way to 'R' but is suggested rather than graphic. " In this part of the world it would probably be given an MA-15+ rating overall.

Because of its length - the entire series is about 550,000 words - I've split the 8 parts over three volumes.    If you're bandwidth-restricted, the ePub files are the smallest (each under 500kb), the PDF files are the largest (1.5 - 2mb each) and the txt files each hover around the 1mb mark.  I've included a zip file of all three volumes with this one so if you're short on bandwidth you can download all three text files for just over 1mb and convert them to another format yourself if  you want.  Many of the stories can be read as stand-alones so you don't need to read the whole series at once.

Complicity by Promise64

Book Cover: Complicity by Promise64

A journey through the shadows of guilt, regret, and responsibility, as a horrific case teaches our heroes about the fragility of trust and the cost of a promise broken.

Brief Note: In its way, this story has become my homage to the world of XF fanfiction; it has evolved into something of a pastiche of all my favorite "cliched" fanfic scenarios-Profiler!Mulder occupies a central place in this fic, as does the traditional casefile; Mulder-and-Scully-in-the-Wilderness tm., figures prominently, and it's even a "First Time" fic; Injured!Scully and Injured!Mulder both make cameos, and there's angst aplenty. I did, however, leave out the kitchen sink . I have tried, in my attempts to honor all that I have so dearly loved about XF fic (my very first fandom, ::sniff::), to render these scenarios in my own way, to challenge (or subvert) the genuine cliches while, at the same time, embracing what I adore about XF fanfic, and I have endeavored to give each of these scenarios my own proverbial "spin." Even as I have branched out into other fandoms, and left XF behind for a considerable amount of time, this creative universe has
remained my "touchstone," the fandom by which all other fandoms have
been judged. My sincerest hope is that my affection for this universe
and its characters can be discerned within the content of this story.

Promise64 indulges us in all we love about XF Fanfic in a story that took her eight years to complete, for which I'm very grateful.  I have a note on this one that says !Dubcon bad sex, but I can't quite remember the exact scenario involved.  Don't worry, it's tagged as having great sex too, and angry sex in particular.  I think it's time I re-read it.

Assumption of Guilt, An by Gerry Hill

Scully makes an assumption about Mulder and it nearly derails their partnership.

The stress of back to back profiling cases results in some friction between our agents.  A series of misunderstandings doesn't help things until they finally work out where they're supposed to be. 😉

I was looking for a solstice fic, but because I'm on the wrong side of the world it's Yule here, and in the X-Files world Yule is at Christmastime, so nothing quite fit.  I gave up and got one set around the northern Summer solstice in season 7.

It's hard enough when your mistakes come back to haunt you. Harder still when you're a federal agent. Hardest yet when your partner's help is the first thing you need, but the last thing you want ...

Glorious angst.  18 months after Never Again, Ed Jerse returns to taunt Scully in this gripping tale. It's one that's hard to put down so free up some time to indulge yourself.  There is a character death, but it's not one most people would cry over. I can't remember whether it's before or after Fight the Future, so I guessed.

Aftershock & Time by Terma99

Book Cover: Aftershock & Time by Terma99

Aftershock: Agents Mulder and Scully assist the San Francisco Police Department in tracking down a mysterious strangler in the aftermath of a 6.7 earthquake.

Time: Returning to San Francisco, Mulder and Scully discover that becoming lovers is just a matter of time.

These aren't quite a series; but they're in the same universe (or city at least).  Aftershock is a casefile with UST that's pretty high on the Richter Scale, winning first place for casefiles in the 1999 Spooky Awards.  Then Time sees Mulder and Scully return to San Francisco for some much needed time off. Time also got a first place for NC-17 MSR in the 1999 Spooky awards.  Terma99 came in second place for Outstanding Author that year - there'll definitely be more of her fics posted here.  It's been a very long time since I read these so some tags may be missing.

Includes:

  • THiB: Blood on the Snow
  • THiB II: A Thief's Diet
  • THiB III: The Quiet Glades of Eden [Incluing prologue: There is only me in my bedroom]

Mulder and Scully are assigned to track a serial killer. They go undercover at a ski resort in Colorado with two other agents, and tension ensues. Set early in canon.

I assume the images are from Tesla as nobody else is credited on her website as having made them.  Along with the cover image, the following images were posted on each Book's page:

More Than a River by Flynn

Book Cover: More Than a River by Flynn

What would it take for Scully to admit some things to herself? How would Mulder take the news? Nomoros, here be dragons.

This includes the 12 parts of More than a River. I forget how much I enjoy reading this one until I give it another read.

Oklahoma by Amperage & Livengoo

162,000 words

Oklahoma

It's 1987 and the Oklahoma cops have an unsolvable case. Fox Mulder, golden boy of the VCU, is called in to stop the murders of children across the state. What he finds takes him places he never wanted to go and forces him to make the pivotal choice of his life.

Rated NC-17 for language and violence.

While my brain fog is limiting my ability to upload new fics I've decided to fix up and re-release some early uploads. The quality was hit and miss in some of the early ones. I've done a complete re-edit of this one to insert all the indents and line breaks to make it more presentable.

This fic is extreme pre-XF Profiler!Mulder-torture, with child victims, so it may not be for everyone, despite being sprinkled with the poetry of TS Eliot. It does tend to align with Eliot's (and the murder's) struggles with religious beliefs.

I believe the original artwork (below left) came from the Annex. In my original upload I added to that one (below right), but I've now created a new cover for reasons that will become evident shortly, much to my own amusement.

Worth Breaking by Narida Law

90,000 words

Book Cover: Worth Breaking by Narida Law

Mulder and Scully embark on a relationship neither is able to handle, and the question of what is or isn’t worth breaking must be answered.

The delicious angst of Mulder and Scully deluding themselves into believing they can have just a physical relationship and their obliviousness to the others' feelings...

I'm not sure of the artist who made the main dustjacket above.  Nerida only credited the artists of the two below, so it may have been made by her.  The one on the left, below, is by Kimpa.  Trixie made the one on the right. Unfortunately the original no longer exists, only a thumbnail (which is smaller than an actual thumbnail), however Trixie's description below might let you imagine it better 🙂

Trixie's explanations for the various images depicted in her cover:
THE MAIN IMAGE: Um...duh.
THE TEXT: A portion of Mulder's journal entry from Chapter Seven.
MULDER AND SCULLY, FAR LEFT: Mulder and Scully, all twitchy in Skinner's office in Chapter Eight.
MULDER IN SUIT: Just because he looks damn good.
SCULLY IN DRESS: The dress Scully wears for Mulder in Chapter Twelve.
MULDER AND SCULLY, FAR RIGHT: "Ladies room. Two minutes," Mulder says to Scully. Found in Chapter Eight.

I'm getting closer to fixing everything, but there may still be temporary breakages as I'm still doing long-overduebackground stuff. Thanks for being patient.
