Lola rates it an 'R'; it felt more explicit to me, so I've marked it as both.
As I move away from the brief UK theme, of course the fic I'm posting happened to have come about from conversations had during a trip to Scotland. I don't actually know where Lola's from, apart from her English spelling.
I've gone off on a tangent there; this story obviously has nothing to do with England or Scotland. Our intrepid agents are sent undercover, as a married couple, into an Amish community in Ohio. As usual, intense things happen, they respond, and they even solve the case. 🙂 Another fabulous story from Lolabeegood.

Happy Mother's Day again. This is the bonus fic for the bonus fic posted last night. This is the original draft of Truly Madly Deeply, which Jenna left on her website as "Truly Madly Deeply - Classic Version" after completing her full revision.
Normally I wouldn't post the original version of a rewritten story but this is an exception for a number of reasons: Jenna retained both versions on her site, they're vastly different stories apart from the underlying premise, and this one is a good story in its own right.
You can safely read both versions without knowing what will happen, however as "TMD Redux" is far richer in detail, action and plot I'd strongly recommend reading the revised version before this one to keep up the level of suspense. This one is a little sappier and possibly smuttier but doesn't have the same level of action and suspense.
Some of the vignettes are post-eps for various Season 5 episodes.
I've always been a fan of Alanna's writing. It took me a few attempts to put all these stories into the right order, so hopefully I have it now. The stories were referred to along the way as part of a universe but were then gathered together on Alanna's website as the "Trilogy" series. Alanna using different names along the way didn't help matters. The series runs though a range of emotions as their relationship progresses.

Some classic smuttiness for hump day this week. This one harkens back to Season 4's Gethsemane - Mulder is 'dead' and Scully has cancer, so they run off to Paris to escape the consortium.

Nascent lures you in with this fic. What starts as a weekend away quickly turns into much more and our agents end up in a deadly situation.

This is another fic that seems to have fallen into the black hole of the internet, and only it's dustjacket remained to let me know of its existence.
Smurf goes all out on the angst and the Scullytorture in this one. Scully battles with her human frailty, and Mulder's there to support her when she eventually allows it.
In the first case after her remission from cancer, Scully is forced to confront a disturbing time in her past. Ten bodies are found buried outside an abandoned hospital in Northern California, all desecrated in a way that is reminiscent of horrifying medical experiments that took place there almost fifty years ago. While navigating the complexities of a changing relationship, Scully and Mulder work to uncover a long-buried evil and hope to solve a cold case that has haunted Scully for years.

A Sunday bonus fic just because it's a relatively recent fic from AO3 and I loved it.
Alienqueequeg sounds like she had to research an entire paper or two to write this one. The flashbacks to life with Melissa gave it extra depth as well. As a bat carer and having rabies first aid drilled into me I kept wanting to yell at my screen to flush out the wound rather than band-aid it and had to keep reminding myself that that's probably irrelevant when someone's not bitten. I can however confirm that it's hard to miss the feel of those little batty teeth when they bite... but I suppose they could just spit into an open wound. 😉 OK I'm rambling again. Just go read it if you haven't already.
An anthology of Stories from Pywacket:
I'd planned to upload Risqué for this week's hump day PWP, but when I checked to see who'd made the dustjacket I found that Pywacket only had 5 stories, so I threw them all in, including the two with covers made by ktblle. 🙂 Enjoy.

Reading the headers had me smiling - Jeylan appears to share my opinions about a certain creator, but at least she turned this into a positive by writing this awesome story in response to her gripes. Just watch out for that crack in the fourth wall that Jeylan throws in.

I know I like to pretend that nothing post Season 7 exists - I mustn't have noticed that this was Season 11 before I read it but I'm certainly glad I gave it a chance. Happy birthday, Scully. Belated or otherwise.

This fic is the ultimate in escapism; it's the beauty of what an unencumbered M&S in love look like. It started as a IWTB Mailing List punishment fic, handed out over grave misdemeanors such as posting a story twice to the list. There are quite a few really juicy fics resulting from such punishment, and I'm hoping to collect as many as possible and combine in one volume here.
Meanwhile, this is the final story in my daily PWP distraction from US political drama postings, I hope. I'd like to think that as long as Mulder and Scully are doing the wild thing, all is right in the world. Hopefully we're back to M, W & F posts. 🙂

This fic follows the ups and downs during the 12 days from the post-Zombie kiss in Millennium. Poor Mulder suffers a few indignities, but he's nothing if not resilient.
This story finishes off my 14 festive days of fics I challenged myself to post to get myself in the swing of things again. I'm aiming to get back to posting 3 times a week, but I still haven't managed to get back to reading emails again. Fingers crossed that I get there soon. I have important emails to send too. 🙂
After hearing Mr. Carter say that our beloved sexually frustrated agents would indulge in some “traditional” practice on New Years Eve, and the cynical chorus of “what, singing Auld Lang Syne?” from fans, I decided we all know what we WANT them to do. This has no plot, no redeaming social values, lots of sexy Scrabble and some other games. Enjoy.
Jess brings our post-Diana-era agents back together and turns the UST up to 11, hovering there until the much-anticipated Y2K arrival. A sexy fic to counteract the recent PG postings 🙂
A week apart following the events of Millennium gives Mulder and Scully a lot of time to think. They come to the decision that a late Christmas is MUCH better than none at all.
This one's a bit of a rollercoaster ride of emotions for Scully as she spends Christmas with her family before returning for Millennium. It does slip into mild sappiness at the end, although it might have just been that I was getting impatient waiting for the good bits 😉 but there are plenty of feel good moments along the way.
Driving back to Washington on Halloween evening Mulder and Scully see strange lights in the sky over rural Maryland, stop to investigate, and find themselves spending a night they will not soon forget.
This one started out fairly painlessly, but Sue pushed the angst up each year as she added a new volume and sucked us in further. But wait, there's more! There's also a shorter story called "The Messenger" that works as an epilogue which I'll post separately as it fits into a few of the different universes that Windsinger was writing at the time. (There's a Cliff's notes guide to all the series involved at the end of that fic so you can follow it without having to read every story. )

Jess has rated this PG-13, but I'd probably rate it a little higher due to Mulder's dirty mind.
Jess turns the Mulder!Innuendo up to 11 in this fic. They're a Mulder and Scully who are very comfortable with each other, but the UST is off the charts, particularly with Mulder. I love Jess's writing, but she's a big tease in this one!
This is a series of thematically-connected stories in which I attempt to stretch the limits of our heroes' sexuality. Just a little; not too much, and I am striving to stay at least within shouting distance of a reasonable extrapolation of character.

Cancer Arc: As Scully's cancer worsens, Mulder and she grow closer together, both learning that the only chance they have to survive is to draw strength from each other.
This one begins as a really sweet romance, with Mulder and Scully opening up to each other during Scully's cancer. It ends the same way, only with some (initially awkward) smut.
Mulder takes Scully on her dream vacation but things don't quite go to plan.
If you haven't figured it out yet, MD1016 is one of my favourite authors, and possibly even the one who got me sucked in to the world of XF fanfic to begin with . She combines the angst and UST and unleashes the smut in a way that I find most appealing. This is a vacation fic set during the cancer arc, with all its tenderness, angst, love, and seasickness.
What do Charlie Scully, the Alien Bounty Hunter, and Jesse “the Body” Ventura all have in common? Last April you could have found all three of them in Minnesota.
The mysterious Charlie Scully gets to come out and play in this one, set around an icy waterfall and steamy hot springs at Temperance Creek State Park in Minnesota. It's a nice trip to a cabin in the snow... that ends up in hospital.
Butterflies All Tied Up: Mulder and Scully are back to work at the X-files, but a madman in their midst finally sends their relationship in a new direction, and someone is watching.
Orchids in Bloom: A fluffy bit of smut, so those persons who are on a higher plane should fly away. Mulder comes home drunk from a bachelor's party and gets the third degree.
Even Doves Have Pride: In the three whirlwind months since M/S have become involved, you'd think they would be entwined in a congenial
union. Perhaps, but suddenly things are moving too quickly for Scully.
Even Doves Have Pride II: The moment of truth has arrived for Mulder and he's suffering from some anxiety.
This is bugs' first foray into fan fiction, which she acknowledges may be a tad unrealistic. That thought did cross my mind on occasion, but it's not too difficult to go with it. The entire story is told through the eyes of a third person, giving it a voyeuristic feel. But I do love a third party perspective on the complicated Mulder-Scully relationship.
I'm now re-releasing this one as I've added the remaining stories in this universe to the file. Bugs kindly created artwork for each of the stories, which you can find in the ePub & PDF versions.
Mulder and Scully's first Valentine's Day together after the events of "Millennium". I decided I liked this Mulder and Scully -- playful and romantic, but still carrying lots of emotional baggage -- and I wanted them to play some more in this little world I'd created for them. There are six completed stories in the series, including the prologue, Non-essential Personnel. [There's mention of more - I've searched thoroughly and can't find them, but all stories included are complete so you won't be left hanging.]
