A very elaborate look at a younger Fox Mulder: profiling hotshot and total nutcase. So much is explained in this story about how Mulder came to be the brilliant but distrusting and somewhat paranoid person we see in the show.

It also answers a few questions you never thought to ask. Or is that what a dream is supposed to do? 🙂

The original online version of the story also had images in each chapter. Most images weren't saved, so I've had to guess from their file names & surrounding text etc what they were.

This fic was so beloved that it even had its own shrine on ArcticFox42's site. I've added a couple of the images below.

Today happens to be the 29th anniversary of my first X-Files episode - the pilot first aired in Australia on 10 Feb 1994.

In honour of this auspicious occasion I've selected a series that starts back at the pilot episode. Dyann recounts the first three seasons with a bit of a twist. Don't worry too much about Ethan... he can't last long after Scully begins working with Mulder 😉

The Scully/Ethan sex is more elaborate than I prefer, but it usually only lasts a paragraph or two. It's not that detailed, I just don't like any details when it comes to 'others'. It's easy enough to skim through if that's not your bag either and there's enough M/S smut to eventually cleanse your mind of it too. 😀

This series is very different to the usual stuff I post here. Yes it is MSR, but it takes a few detours and includes a few other characters. It does end up in the right place though.

Romp should possibly have considered the name Rump due to their obvious fetish here, but I'm not going to kink-shame, just give you a bit of a heads up as to what you're getting into. There is a lot of humour in it.

In "Krycek's Game": "Scully felt something sickening in the pit of her stomach. Dear God, were there really men out there who had nothing better to do with their time than manufacture fake nude photos of her?"

OK, I'm not a man so Scully can't be talking about me, but it's true. ? Tragically I have nothing better to do with my time, so there are also a few extra images included in the PDF & ePub versions that I've put over on the hidden "Under the covers" page at x-trash. (The password is "smut").  You can use them to make your own calendar if you're so inclined. 😀

I've also had difficulty tagging this. I apologise if I've missed anything important. There is some past Mulder/Phoebe, and some slashesque Scully/Other.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

Note: Whilst this is an MSR overall, that's not its primary focus. This is dark and dirty... it features a very disillusioned Scully who is looking for reassurance elsewhere when she's not getting it from Mulder. No hearts and flowers here.

You know I like a side of angst, particularly when Mulder's being an ass in early season 6. This story documents an unconventional road trip with both Scully and Krycek feeling a little bitter over their circumstances.

Tomorrow is my 28th X-Files anniversary. ?  I was hooked when the pilot episode first aired in Australia on 17 February 1994.  Thankfully I recovered from the personality defect that caused me to spend the first 5 years of the show as a noromo, to enable me to now relish in the raw purity that is unencumbered Mulder-Scully sex during the pilot episode.

ScullyGolightly wrote ten stories in the series; each of them is a standalone and just a bit of harmless fun. Although it hasn't been added to since 2019, I do hope there are still some yet to be written that will appear at the series link one day without warning...

Last Dance: Mulder's messing with something he shouldn't be.

This is an epic early story, beginning in Season 2, so it involves some characters  who never made it far into Season 3.  It's quite a complicated story, to match its name, as it involves time travel and parallel universes, which always make my head spin. It can get quite concerning MSR-wise at points, but you have to trust that they'll find a way.  But I admit to being very glad that an epilogue was added...

This was the oldest outstanding story on by  "to read" list as I was a little worried about the Mulder/other factor, but I finally read it and it's definitely MSR. Mulder's ex-girlfriend is in the story, and there's some sexual tension between them, but they're both with other people now. 🙂 I have a feeling that I'd read the interlude, which is Mulder/other, and that gave me the wrong idea. Although the interlude isn't part of the original story,  it was written before Part 21 but I've placed it at the end as an optional extra.

The woman at the centre of this story is a likable, interesting character, who works with Mulder and Scully on a case, before working on their personal relationship.

I haven't managed to get my hands on the original book cover created by Nessa, so if you have a copy I'd love to include it here.

It's angst with a happy ending though, which is the best kind of angst.

Although this fic examines the Mulder/Fowley relationship, it is MSR. Or appreciable anyway.  It gives a whole new understanding of the motivations and events of seasons 5 to 7.

The Complete Revelations Series
This series takes place during the first season of The X-Files, beginning the morning after the last scene in The Jersey Devil and ending prior to the Season One finale,  The Erlenmeyer Flask.

The full series is split into three volumes, as follows:
VOLUME ONE:
1. REVELATIONS 1: DAWN
(This has been mislabelled as "Revelations" at the top of each volume)
2. REVELATIONS 2: THE BOX

VOLUME TWO:
3. REVELATIONS 3: THE VACATION
