This was originally supposed to be a series but unfortunately only two stories were written. It's a shame because she set up a really interesting scenario that I'd have liked to have seen play out more.

There are lots of the favourite tropes here, despite this being written way back in 1996. If it helps with considering the content warning in "Transfers", the actions warned about are outside Mulder's control and more of an X-File.

I love stories that don't fit into standard tags, but it makes it hard to entice readers with promises of certain events. I've also left off tags so as not to give things away.

The Scully/Ethan sex is more elaborate than I prefer, but it usually only lasts a paragraph or two. It's not that detailed, I just don't like any details when it comes to 'others'. It's easy enough to skim through if that's not your bag either and there's enough M/S smut to eventually cleanse your mind of it too. 😀

This can be quite the dark story at times. It's an often uncomfortable Mulder and Scully, floundering a little to find their place in each other's worlds with all the changes thrust upon them by the consortium, but they do find their stride often enough to satisfy. They do get put through a few trials though, and there are a few twists and turns at the end to keep you on the edge. It's definitely worth a read. I even managed to make it through the pregnancy/baby factor completely unscathed.

Hi guys. Sorry I've been MIA for so long. I realise it's been a month (there was an extra one I pre-loaded that appeared later) but I've been fighting the nasty brain demons after being made to take a long washout period from old meds before starting new ones. I don't usually read alternate universe stories, but I started this one without realising and had to keep reading.

This one had enough tension to keep me hooked the whole way. I've included the incomplete sequel. Mish tended to write a lot of stories at the same time, and consequently there are quite a few of hers that were never completed. I was tossing up whether to include this story here due to the disappointment when I found the sequel wasn't complete, but the original story is worthwhile. I often anguish over whether to publish an author's name where google can find it. It usually comes down to how common the name is. I was on the fence with this one as so much fic comes up on google anyway, but I couldn't be sure that it wasn't a unique name, so I chose to be cautious. Whilst I've edited the name displayed on this site, it's still on the image where google can't see it, and in the downloadable documents.

And while this is Scully/Ethan, Ethan doesn't seem to be doing it for her once she starts on the X-Files.

This is a fic I came across whilst I was searching for another story, and I'm very glad I did. I usually avoid established relationship fics because I like a bit of excitement, IYKWIM, but there's no lack of that with this pair, despite them being together almost 2 years at the time this is set.

There's the angst of Mulder and Scully both being in danger, then more angst when nobody would believe Scully had been kidnapped, thanks to some bruising left by Mulder. 😉 After Mulder is sidelined by the bureau, our agents have to each rely on their wits to get back to each other. A++++

With this Halloween fic you get an extra Thanksgiving story, so keep that in mind when I forget to do one for Thanksgiving. 🙂

Branwell gives us a Mulder and Scully who have been worn down both from years of fighting malevolent forces and being unable to share the repeated trauma with anyone else without ridicule and disbelief. They're reluctant to trust anyone, including each other for fear of inflicting more pain. They're ruled by their own insecurity and question whether they can even trust themselves.

I don't mean to put you off at all; it's actually a very real Mulder and Scully considering what they've been through, and there is such beauty in their tragedy. Branwell doesn't put them through too much torture in these stories, but their actions and reactions are those of tortured souls. There is real feeling in the way they treat each other, and underneath it all there's their deep abiding love. Eventually they find what they need in each other.

As we all know, Scully's a medical doctor, and there are occasions where that skill is needed to take care of Mulder's mistreated man-parts. These are but 4 fics where such an indignity has been suffered. I actually laughed out loud in some parts, which felt wrong under the circumstances, so I hope I'm not alone.

I don't know what it says about me that this is one of my favourite stories. I love that Mulder and Scully's fight was so low down and dirty. I love that they're both still fuming. I love that Scully heads out in search of satisfaction, and I love the awkwardness of her chosen beau. I love the intensity of their passion, bordering on love/hate, and I love that things don't quite go right. I'd love to have seen this one on TV 😀

(16 June, 2019) I wanted to find a daddy!Mulder fic to post for US Fathers' Day, but I'm allergic to kidfic. I've made it through the first book in this series before my kidficphobia set in and I couldn't go on. It's nothing to do with the actual fic, which is by an author I adore and comes recommended by others, it's my own issue which I wish I could overcome...

In 'The Other Side of Eden' Mulder and Scully are dumped on a deserted island, having been given a serum to erase all their memory. Angst & smut ensues...

2023 Re-release: I'm so proud of myself. I challenged myself to read the entire fic and I did it! I'm pleased to announce that this series only icked me a couple of times, and it ended up being an enjoyable case file. LOL

This is another re-edited & re-released fic intended to ease the pressure on my brain. I had a report of an issue with this one so hopefully it's fixed now, and there's now an added web version.

In my excitement I've also added a new M&S on an island illustration to the end of the ePub, PDF & web versions.
